VIDEO: POLAR ‘I LIKE IT HERE INSIDE MY MIND, DON’T WAKE ME THIS TIME’ PREMIERE ROTTERDAM

by Mathijs Tromp 2016-03-04

written by Mathijs Tromp

On the third of march we went to the premiere of Pontus Alv his new Polar Skate Co video ‘I like it here inside my mind, don’t wake me this time.’. Just as you would expect from Pontus, the video is full of art creations and sometimes weird/strange shots accompanied by good but sometimes also weird music. Creative and sick parts by Hjalte Halberg, Dane Brady, Aaron Herrington and many more. We sure liked the video and look forward to watching it again.

PHOTO’S & VIDEO: LADYBIRD SKATEPARK REBUILT

by Mathijs Tromp 2016-02-22

written by Mathijs Tromp

A few weeks ago Ladybird Skatepark in Tilburg, Netherlands was closed due to the customization of the park. They built a new ledge, a new bank, as well as a creative spine, and to top it all off they repainted the small park. Before they opened the refurbished park to the public we had a private session with a couple of riders. Take a look at how Jelle Maatman, Robbin de Wit, Jeremy van der Eijk, Lex van der Does, Bastiaan van Zadelhof and Pjotr Meerding take on the new obstacles.

Riders:
Robbin de Wit
Jeremy van der Eijk
Bastiaan van Zadelhof
Jelle Maatman
Lex van der Does
Pjotr Meerding

Jeremy van der Eijk – Noseblunt

Pjotr Meerding goes big with nice gap to wallride

It’s not only fun to skate, it also has the looks!

The whole park got a new layer of paint

Fresh!

This ledge is one of the new obstacles in the big park. Jeremy van der Eijk – Fs 180 nosegrind revert

Robbin de Wit – Frontside blunt

New ledge with a nice marble plate on top of it.

You don’t need to pop anymore in Tilburg

Also this ledge some recognizable art.

Ruud Garst aka Rambo Rudy – Frontside tailslide

The most fun obstacle of the park is probably the mini spine.

With a small quarter on top of the bank

PHOTO’S: VANS SHOP RIOT GERMANY & OPENING NORTH BRIGADE SKATEPARK

by Mathijs Tromp 2015-05-11

written by Mathijs Tromp

Last weekend we were in Keulen to visit the opening of the new North Brigade Skatepark, check out the release of the new German Solo Magazine and watch how Douwe Macaré and the rest of the SkateDeluxe team performed during the German Vans Shop Riot. Keulen has gained a super smooth skatepark where both technical skaters and bowl skaters can shred for days. Besides a smooth skatepark, Germany can also be proud to have a new Magazine named SOLO. Its first print looks solid and could be a promising addition to the German skateboard scene. Next to that, the Vans Shop Riot was on Sunday. Seeing that Germany is largely covered by shops owned by Titus, we mainly spotted Titus shops in the competition. Douwe Macaré along with the SkateDeluxe team didn’t manage to make it further than the second round, where they were beaten in a knock out race by the eventual winner: Titus Webshop.
